WHAT THEY DO: Just Economics’ mission is to educate, advocate and organize for a more just and sustainable local economy that works for all in Western North Carolina. Just Economics advances living wages, workers’ rights, affordable housing and public transit. Our team achieves this mission through policy advocacy, living-wage certification for businesses, and grassroots engagement. Just Economics amplifies the voices of the people most impacted by economic injustice to facilitate long-term change.

INCENTIVES

  • Everyone who donates $30 or more will be entered into a drawing for a $100 Sauna House gift card and a $25 Jargon gift card. Sauna House and Jargon are living-wage certified businesses.
  • Donors of $30-$59 will be eligible for basic individual membership benefits, including two free raffle tickets for the Annual Celebration and admittance to Just Brew It 2024.
  • Donors of $60- $119 will be eligible for individual membership benefits, plus five free raffle tickets for the Annual Celebration and VIP admittance to Just Brew It 2024.
  • Donors of $120 or more will be eligible for the Power to the People individual membership benefits, including 10 free raffle tickets for the Annual Celebration, VIP admittance to Just Brew It 2024 and a Just Economics T-shirt.
I had the privilege of being supported by the amazing organization, Just Economics, during my participation in the Voices class, a leadership program for low-wage workers. As a single mother residing in public housing, I shared my firsthand experiences with the ‘benefits cliff.’ My involvement led to an opportunity to join the board, an honor I hold. My role as a community health worker focused on violence prevention has allowed me to develop impactful relationships within the organization, fostering the potential for positive socioeconomic change.
