Western North Carolina AIDS Project (WNCAP)
WHAT THEY DO: Western North Carolina AIDS Project provides equitable access to care and reduces harm from HIV, hepatitis C and drug use. WNCAP offers medical case management, pharmacy assistance, food delivery, housing support, prevention education and free HIV testing to individuals and families impacted by HIV/AIDS across 18 counties in Western North Carolina. WNCAP works to eliminate stigma around HIV and those who live and thrive with it. Additionally, WNCAP’s Community Navigation Program supports folks diagnosed with HIV who live in remote, rural areas with little or no access to the resources necessary for maintaining physical, emotional and social health.
After my diagnosis, I was scared to go to the doctor. I didn’t want anyone to know. WNCAP changed everything for me.—WNCAP client
