Wild for Life

WHAT THEY DO: Wild for Life inspires and engages the WNC community about the intrinsic value of and our connection with wildlife and wild places around us through avian rehabilitation and environmental education. Our focus is on birds of prey and adult songbirds, and we have state and federal licenses that permit us to care for and release injured native animals. Also requiring licensing, WFL maintains educational non-releasable raptors for educational programs that stimulate and engage our neighbors.

MATCHES

  • The Community Foundation of Western North Carolina will match your contribution to any of the 2020 Give!Local animal welfare organizations. CFWNC’s total contribution is limited to $7,000.

INCENTIVES

  • Each donor of $500 or more will be invited to join in the opportunity of a lifetime, releasing a bird of prey that has been in rehabilitation and is now ready for an inspiring journey back into the wild.
My association with Wild for Life began in the mid-1990s, and since that time, my admiration for their commitment to restoration for injured or orphaned wild birds has continued to grow. Wild for Life is the pre- eminent program for wildlife rehabilitation in Western North Carolina. The work done by Wild for Life is nothing short of amazing, and I urge everyone to learn more about their remarkable work on behalf of all forms of native birds and animals.
