Council on Aging of Buncombe County

What They Do:

For over 60 years, the Council on Aging of Buncombe County has supported local seniors. COABC’s mission is to promote independence, dignity and well-being through service, education and advocacy. COABC is a dynamic organization that addresses basic needs such as food, transportation, housing, caregiver support and access to affordable health care with person-centered services and support, and a particular focus on a person’s ability to age with dignity. Last year, COABC touched the lives of 6,750 of our aging neighbors. With changes to federal programs, COABC will continue evolving to meet the needs of our community’s older adults.
