WHAT THEY DO: The Western North Carolina Nature Center connects people of all ages with the animals and plants of the Southern Appalachian Mountains. The Nature Center is a special place for us. It’s a go-to for walks and activity throughout the year — not just for the kids, but the grown-ups, too! It’s relaxing to walk the paths between the animals’ homes. The conservation and local education efforts are so commendable, and the staff are all wonderful and passionate. The remodeled areas are welcoming, and we can’t wait to see what the future has in store for the Nature Center!
