Homeward Bound of WNC
WHAT THEY DO: Homeward Bound’s mission is to prevent and end homelessness in our community through permanent housing and support. We have moved more than 2,600 individuals, families and veterans into homes, and 92% of them have not returned to homelessness. Through the national best practice of housing first, we are committed to moving people into housing as a first step, then wrapping them in supportive services to help stabilize their lives so they can stay in housing and improve their quality of life. Homeward Bound’s AHOPE Day Center is the front door to housing.
Homeward Bound is the most effective local nonprofit ending homelessness. Their staff supports people living on the streets with compassion, creativity and expertise. Their work saves lives at the same time it saves our community tax dollars.
