Humane Society of Buncombe County (dba Friends2Ferals)

What They Do:
Since 2007, Friends2Ferals’ mission has been to provide a long-term solution to feline overpopulation in Buncombe, Henderson and Madison counties. We support a high-volume community program to spay/neuter and vaccinate stray and feral cats, as well as providing additional veterinary assistance for those in need.  Following Tropical Storm Helene, requests for assistance have exploded. At the same time, grant funding has all but dried up, so now we must rely almost exclusively on donations. To date, we have provided services for over 17,000 cats!
Incentives:
  • Those who donate $20 or more will receive a $5 coupon to Patton Avenue Pet Co.
Matches:

All donations will be matched, up to a total of $5,000, in loving memory of Judith N. Watters.

Upon renting a house, I discovered that the backyard was filled with sick cats and dying kittens. I contacted Friends2Ferals, and they came out immediately to assess the situation. In all, over 65 cats were fixed and received medical care, and about seven litters of kittens were treated and placed with local rescues. I so appreciate everything they did.
